AGITATE is an artist-run hub for photography in Edinburgh
Based at 6 William Street (EH3 7NH) - a new venue shared with Studies in Photography - we are an ambitious start-up celebrating pictures in all their forms. Through our gallery, bookshop and events programme, we want to change the landscape of photography in Scotland by making it easier for lens-based artists to show and sell their work. We stock a range of photo wares including books, zines, prints and film; host print finishing facilities; a workshop programme, a calendar of events promoting engagement with photography, and provide affordable space hire for a range of purposes. AGITATE is a community. Our motivation is to provide opportunity for the immense population of image-makers in Scotland, better represent the diversity of people making work in a gallery setting, and support artists to help make things happen.
